Since 1945, the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) of Canberra and Goulburn (formerly known as the Catholic Women’s Association) has worked for the Church, ‘supported the clergy, given solace to the lonely and practical help to the needy. At the same time, they have presented to the wider community the public face of Catholic women.’1
