The acceptance and legalisation of the medical termination of pregnancy remains one of the most complex and divided ethical issues in our contemporary society.  This topic raises questions about the status of unborn human life, the situations in which women choose abortion, pregnancy “reductions”, chemical abortifacients and alternatives to termination.
